Fridge Troubleshooting Guide
Understand common fridge symptoms, safe first checks and when professional diagnosis is needed.
Fridge not cooling
Confirm power is present, the temperature control has not been changed, internal vents are clear and the door closes completely. Avoid repeatedly switching the appliance on and off.
Freezer cold but fridge warm
This symptom often points to an airflow, fan or defrost problem rather than low refrigerant. Note any heavy frost on the freezer’s rear panel.
Fridge running continuously
A dirty condenser, warm room, poor door seal, overloaded cabinet, control fault or sealed-system problem can increase running time.
Water leaking
Check the drain path, drip tray, water connection and door closure. Disconnect power before touching any exposed electrical area.
When to book
Arrange diagnosis when temperatures keep rising, the compressor repeatedly trips, electrical burning is suspected, refrigerant leakage is possible or food safety is at risk.
